National Guard denies rumors about changes within its ranks in Sweida

The leadership of the National Guard Forces in Sweida denied circulating rumors regarding field movements and personnel changes within its ranks, describing them as attempts to undermine the military institution and weaken its cohesion. It stressed that such measures are routine organizational procedures carried out in accordance with operational requirements.

The statement, published on the force’s social media platforms, said that “any reassignment or movement involving certain units and fighters is temporary and purely organizational. In many cases, it includes some of the finest men who have demonstrated exceptional courage and efficiency in carrying out their duties, which prompts malicious parties to exploit any such movement and spread speculation and rumors about it.”

The leadership added that “National Guard personnel continue to perform their duties with responsibility, discipline, and exceptional bravery, according to precise military arrangements dictated by the nature of field operations, while some details and procedures remain classified to ensure the safety and success of missions.”

It further emphasized that the media speculation “will not affect the fighters’ determination or the trust of the people of the mountain in their institution,” reaffirming its commitment to carrying out its duties and defending the security of the region and its residents.
