The National Guard Forces' Command issued a statement to the public opinion condemning the targeting of a passenger bus on the Damascus-Sweida road, accusing the Transitional Government of being behind the attack. The command began its statement by saying, "In a new crime added to the record of systematic terrorism, the criminal gangs affiliated with Transitional Government Forces targeted a civilian passenger bus carrying emergency humanitarian cases while it was traveling on the Damascus highway, near Marjana area in rural Damascus."

The command made clear that "this treacherous attack, which targeted unarmed civilians on their way, embodies the criminal nature of these gangs, which do not hesitate to target innocent people in broad daylight, in a desperate attempt to sow chaos, undermine stability, and threaten the civilians' lives."

The National Guard Forces Command affirmed its strong condemnation of this terrorist act, renewing its commitment to "protecting civilians and confronting all forms of terrorism," and emphasizing that "the blood of the innocent will not go unavenged."

The command revealed the number of casualties, indicating that "two people died as martyrs, and more than eleven others got injured, including children and critical conditions."
