Nadim Sven, one of the participants in the 12th PKK Congress held on May 5-7, stated that the congress marked a historic turning point in the struggle and emphasized the cadres' commitment to the line of leader Apo despite the harsh conditions of isolation imposed on him in Imrali Prison.

He recalled the martyrs of the struggle, most notably leaders Ali Haydar Kaitan and Reza Alton

He stressed that the congress is not an end, but the beginning of a new phase of revolutionary negotiations, both socially and politically, and praised the party's 42-year legacy as a tool for social transformation and not just a political organization.

He pointed to the party's pioneering role in empowering women, saying: "Kurdish women led a struggle against all forms of slavery, and this model influenced Kurdistan and the world."

He also noted that the conference witnessed a frank discussion of past failures and responsibilities. "The questions of why this transformation was delayed and why change was so difficult were discussed honestly," he said, calling on the cadres to carry on the revolutionary legacy with a new democratic socialist vision.
