Baik-Qaraylan: Middle East entered new era of developments with Kurdistan at its center

The work of the 23rd extraordinary congress of the Kurdistan National Congress continued with the reading of the joint message of the co-chair of the Executive Board of the Kurdistan Communities Union, Cemil Bayik, and PKK leader Murad Qaraylan, which was addressed to the General Council of the Kurdistan National Congress:

Dear Gentlemen, Members and Friends

First of all, we extend our warm greetings to the Congress committee and all comrades and friends who participated in the congress , and we congratulate the 23rd general assembly of the Kurdistan National Congress for the sake of the country and the people.

We also wanted to join the KNK General Council, of which we are proud to be a member, but due to unfavorable circumstances, we did not participate, although we are far away and cannot join the meetings, but we would like you to know that we will succeed in fulfilling our duties and responsibilities in line with the goals of the KNK."

The Kurdistan National Congress (KNK), which has been working continuously for 23 years, has made the national unity of the Kurdish people one of its main agendas since its establishment, and has held many congress s, meetings and activities related to this goal, and has become the diplomatic representative of the Kurdish people abroad, and with the aim of developing relations among the Kurds, and by promoting good relations with political parties, organizations, institutions, civil society organizations and Kurdish political figures, political wisdom and common strategy have become the main goal of the KNK, of which we are also members, and if there is dialogue and support among the people of the Kurdish people

Dear comrades

The Middle East has entered a new era of rapid developments, and Kurdistan has become the center of these developments, and with the changing balance of power and new relations in the Middle East, the Kurdish people are trying to play an active role in this process, and for this reason, the priority and necessity lies in building a common Kurdish strategy, and the common strategy is the continuous and systematic interaction between Kurdish parties, organizations, institutions and personalities in the four parts of Kurdistan and beyond, and joint discussions must be held with the aim of building a common understanding, at this stage, the KNK continues to carry out such important work successfully.

As you know, leader Abdullah Ocalan is leading a dialogue process with the Turkish state on behalf of our movement in Imrali, and this process is still ongoing. Our goal in managing this process is to find a solution to the Kurdish issue through dialogue, and we as a movement believe that we will be able to successfully fulfill the duties and responsibilities entrusted to us at this stage, and now it is the turn of the second party, and we hope that the other party will fulfill its commitments and we can reach a result.

In addition to its direct impact on the politics of Kurdistan and the Middle East, leader Apo's historic call of the century on February 27 and the developments that followed have also strengthened the basis for unity among the Kurdish people. This historic call and the policies that developed thereafter created a suitable opportunity for the Kurdish people to achieve democratic national unity based on the common interests of our people.

However, because the identity and gains of our people are under pressure and threats in all parts of the homeland, the struggle to protect them and realize national democratic rights has never stopped and is still ongoing, and will also open the way to ensure rights and justice for all peoples in our country and those with whom we live. All segments of society, especially women and revolutionary youth, are the key dynamic for the success of this process, and their participation and support will further promote the goal of a democratic society and a democratic nation.

This historic call also requires the development of new relations with international powers, regional powers, all the peoples of the region and political actors. It needs to build strong relations and a strong and solid union. Our people throughout the country have reached a high level of organization and freedom consciousness.

They have long since been freed from the situation they were in in the last century, where they were leaderless, disorganized, and without a will. However, as long as they seek to build a common understanding and strategy among these characteristics, they will obtain their rights and gain their status, and the KNK is one of the most important participants in this task and responsibility.

The role and task of the KNK in achieving the founding goal has evolved in this process, the Kurdish people have not yet been able to achieve full unity among themselves, the issue of national unity is an urgent task before all of us, Leader Apo has also emphasized this issue in his recent meetings and called on all concerned to fulfill their duties, the decision to hold a national congress  was taken at the Lausanne congress , the KNK must make more efforts on this issue and be able to organize a national congress  within the given context.

We, as a movement and as members of the KNK, will continue our work on the national unity of the Kurdish people after this process, and we will fulfill our duties and responsibilities.

With this faith and determination, we salute the general amnesty and wish the new administration success."
