A local source from the city of Gire Spi/Tel Abyad, which has been occupied since 2019, reported that the Turkish occupation intelligence in the city and its countryside warned its mercenaries in the event of defection and fleeing from the fronts.

According to the source, a large number of Turkish occupation mercenaries fled the city after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime, and returned to their cities and villages in the areas of Aleppo, Homs, the Damascus countryside, and others.

While the families of the mercenaries in the city of Gire Spi/Tel Abyad constitute an obstacle to defection and escape, towards the areas of the Autonomous Administration or their other Syrian areas, due to the lack of an opportunity to flee the area with their families.

The source indicated that the remaining mercenaries no longer have the desire to fight after suffering heavy losses in their battles with the Syrian Democratic Forces, and their desire to return to their areas, but they face threats of liquidation and arrest of their family members, if this is refused.
