Military forces from Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh arrive in Tabqa

The military forces that had departed from the neighborhoods of Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud have arrived in the Tabqa, in implementation of the sixth clause of the agreement concluded between the General Council of the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh and the Damascus authority.

The redeployment, which took place earlier today, saw the forces exit the neighborhoods with their full equipment, as stipulated in the agreement, which calls for the withdrawal of military units to areas east of the Euphrates River.

ANHA agency's correspondent documented the arrival of the military convoy in the town of Deir Hafir, located in the western countryside of Tabqa Canton, within the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.

The People's Protection Units (YPG) and the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) confirmed in an official statement their withdrawal from the aforementioned neighborhoods and the transfer of security responsibilities to the Internal Security Forces (Asayish).

The withdrawal comes as part of a broader 14-point agreement signed on April 1 between the General Council of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh and the Damascus authorities, aimed at regulating security and administrative matters in the region.
