Midas Azizi: agreement is historic, turning point move in history of Kurdish political movement

In a historic step, the first of its kind, the April 26 conference "Unity of the Kurdish Position and Line in Rojava Kurdistan" supported an integrated Kurdish vision on the basis of the foundation of Syria.

In a report to ANHA's agency, Midas Azizi, Political Bureau and Public Relations Officer of the Kurdish Progressive Democratic Party in Syria, greeted the Kurdish people on the unity of the Kurdish political movement in Syria after decades of division.

Azizi described the agreement as "a historic and turning point in the history of the Kurdish political movement in Syria," and added, "The Kurds have succeeded in coming up with one vision and position."

Azizi reported that: "The Kurdish political movement has agreed on a draft political document, which will be taken by a Kurdish delegation to Damascus to negotiate the Kurdish issue."

Midas Azizi congratulated that two core clauses were present in the document: the first is to decide the rights of the Kurds in Syria, and the second is to agree that Syria has to be a decentralized state.

Azizi emphasized that: "The decentralization of Syria is not just the dream of the Kurdish people, but of all Syrians. It was important to hold this conference urgently, and Syrians anticipated it because the Kurds have a role and power and can take significant steps, determining the new government and building a new democratic homeland where all Syrians are equal."

Midas Azizi maintained that "this conference would not have been held without the cooperation and participation of the main Kurdish parties in Northern and Southern Kurdistan."
