message of support for Rojava from politicians imprisoned by Iranian authorities

Political prisoners held in Iranian regime prisons—Zeinab Jalalian, Warisha Moradi, and Mataleb Ahmadian—issued a joint statement in support of the resistance in Rojava Kurdistan.

The message issued by the political prisoners reads as follows:

“The time has come for the people and youth of Eastern Kurdistan, as well as for all those who advocate freedom and the Kurdish cause, to stand united alongside Rojava. What is happening today in Kobani and Rojava is nothing but a historical record of violence in the Middle East, especially in Kurdistan. This horrific phase has long subjected civilians to siege and violations. The Battle of Kobani in 2014 was not merely a military confrontation; it was a defense and resistance against the crossing of boundaries.

More than 815 defenders were martyred in the war, including civilians, women, and children from the resistance forces. Today, attempts continue to strip the resistance of its meaning, while pressure on Rojava is increasing. ISIS mercenaries and their allies, using new methods and with international support, are unleashing violence in the region and the world. However, this reality should not make us forget the essence of resistance, as the experience of the people of this region has proven that resistance does not go in vain as long as it is based on awareness and free social will.

We, the Kurdish political prisoners in Iran, are trapped in the grip of the same repressive forces. We have been deprived of the opportunity to defend ourselves, but this does not strip people of their conscience. The time has come for the Kurdish people, and for the youth of Eastern Kurdistan and Iran, to stand united in solidarity with the people of Rojava, to support their morale, and to defend the meaning of resistance. We reaffirm that defending history, dignity, and freedom is capable of achieving victory on the fronts of war.
