Mercenaries cut off M5 highway, arrest number of Russian forces

SOHR stated that Tahrir Al-Sham and supporting factions have cut off Damascus-Aleppo international highway (M5) near Al-Zarba town in Aleppo countryside. The group also took control of the point where M4 and M5 highways meets near Saraqeb city, blocking the two highways, which had been reopened by Damascus forces a few years ago.

In the same context, the Al-Watan newspaper, quoted a special source in Aleppo as saying, "Due to the military operations taking place nearby and to protect the lives of civilians, the Syrian Arab Army has temporarily closed the international road to and from Aleppo.

 ؤThe intensity of violent military confrontations between the mercenaries of "Tahrir al-Sham" and the forces of the Damascus government in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib has been escalating since dawn yesterday, resulting in the number of military deaths rising to 182 people, including 121 mercenaries and 61 from the Damascus forces.

 In turn, sources told the American website "Media Line" that the mercenaries captured about 10 members, including members of the Russian forces, and killed or injured dozens of others.

 The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights indicated that the mercenaries were managed to tighten their control over the village of Shabour near the city of Saraqib in the eastern Idlib countryside and enter one of the city’s neighborhoods from the western side. They also took control of the villages of Dadikh and Kafr Batikh in the eastern Idlib countryside, and the villages of Kafr Basin, Arnaz and Al-Zarba in the western Aleppo countryside after violent confrontations with the Damascus forces. During these battles, they captured 8 members of the Damascus forces in the village of Ajil, and two other members in the western Aleppo countryside.
