Meeting between administration of Rojava University, Ministry of Higher Education concludes

Rojava University in Qamishlo, in the Jazira region, received this morning a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the interim government, headed by Minister Dr. Marwan al-Halabi and Hasakah Governor Engineer Nour al-Din Ahmad.

The delegation was received by representatives of the university administration, Qamishlo District Director Jihan Hossam, and Autonomous Administration Integration Committee official Hassan Sharo.

The two sides held a closed-door meeting, away from the media, which lasted nearly two hours at the university building.

According to the governorate’s media office, the meeting addressed several issues related to the state of higher education in Hasakah province, as well as ways to develop it and improve the quality of its outcomes.

The participants also discussed the main challenges and needs facing the university’s higher education sector and presented a number of proposals for its development.

The meeting also addressed mechanisms for implementing the integration process, ensuring the completion of procedures in accordance with legal and administrative frameworks, serving the interests of students and academic staff, and contributing to the development of the higher education sector in the province.

Following the meeting, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the accompanying delegation toured the university building.

It is worth noting that Hasakah Governor Engineer Nour al-Din Ahmad received the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Marwan al-Halabi on Wednesday, in the presence of the Autonomous Administration Integration Committee official Hassan Sharo and officials concerned with higher education affairs.

The two sides discussed the situation of the higher education sector in the province and reviewed the main challenges and needs facing educational institutions, in a way that contributes to developing the educational process and improving the level of services provided to students.

The minister and governor also held a meeting with administrative and teaching staff from the faculties and institutes affiliated with al-Furat University in Hasakah at the Faculty of Law building. The minister also toured Qurtuba Private University in the countryside of Qamishlo.
