Subscription generator owners protest in Hasakah

Subscription generator owners in the city of Hasakah staged a protest on Thursday in front of the City Council, demanding the allocation of service diesel fuel after authorities announced the suspension of its distribution. The protesters called for equal treatment with their counterparts in other cities and urged the authorities to ensure a steady supply of fuel to keep their generators operating.

The protest comes amid repeated disruptions in diesel fuel distribution throughout the current month, which have led to widespread power outages across most neighborhoods of Hasakah, further exacerbating residents' hardships, particularly as soaring summer temperatures increase demand for electricity.

The electricity cuts have also affected essential public services, disrupting the pumping of drinking water to households despite the recent resumption of operations at the Allouk Water Station and the restoration of water supply to the city, as water pumping stations remain heavily dependent on a stable electricity supply.

Generator owners called on the relevant authorities to find an urgent solution to ensure the regular distribution of service diesel fuel, stressing that a reliable fuel supply is essential to maintaining generator operations and mitigating the impact of power outages on residents and vital public services.
