Man, his son kidnapped, olive harvest stolen in occupied Afrin

The Human Rights Organization Afrin – Syria reported that on Sunday, October 19, the Turkish occupation mercenaries kidnapped Hussein Khello and his son Mustafa Khello, the residents of Anqala village in Shia district in Afrin occupied countryside, while they were guarding their olive grove.

According to the organization, the incident occurred when the father and son witnessed four mercenaries stealing the olive crop from their grove. When they attempted to stop them, the mercenaries opened fire on them, prompting Hussein Khello to respond in self-defense, and two of the mercenaries were subsequently injured.

The organization added that the two are still kidnapped.

In the same context, the organization reported that the Turkish occupation mercenaries stole the olive crop belonging to Ali Sabri from Alkana village of Shia district, after harvesting the entire olive crop from approximately 100 olive trees at 'the Kale Shieh' site.

The organization added that the mercenaries in the irrigated village of Khelalka in Bulbul district, are preventing the returned residents from reaching their agricultural lands, where they have set up tents and guard posts around the orchards to prevent them from harvesting their crops, with the aim of seizing and looting the olives at gunpoint.

According to the organization, the mercenaries stole approximately 150 bags of olives from the lands of citizens Hussein Mohamed Hamo and Ibrahim Mohamed Hamo, in addition to 200 bags of olives belonging to citizen Abdul Rahman Kulin Hamo, amid ongoing looting and plundering of the olive crop in Afrin countryside.

The Human Rights Organization Afrin – Syria noted the increasing violations and continued looting of the olive crop in Afrin occupied countryside as the harvest season approaches, exacerbating the suffering of farmers and threatening their only source of livelihood.
