Makhmour sit-in continues
Residents of Makhmour camp continue their sit-in in front of an Iraqi army post, denouncing the siege and detention imposed by the Iraqi government on the camp.

For the sixth consecutive day, residents of Martyr Rustam Judy Camp (Makhmour) are continuing their sit-in in front of an Iraqi army military post, in clear defiance of the siege and arrests imposed by the Baghdad government on the camp, and in protest of the continued detention of the delegation of the camp's People's Council.
Iraqi forces had promised to release the detained delegation on May 15, after they returned from meeting with officials in Baghdad, but the promises did not materialize, prompting residents to escalate their protests.
The protesters affirm their determination to continue their peaceful protest until their demands are met, including the release of the detainees and the lifting of the siege imposed on the camp since April 10.
