Forum on Kurdish unity and future prospects kicks off
Today, a forum on "Kurdish Unity: Ways to strengthen it and its future prospects" launched in Qamishlo. During the forum, Ilham Ahmad pointed out that the convening of the Kurdish position and unity conference is an indication of the level of national awareness among the Kurdish people, and emphasized that ideological differences within the Kurdish community should not become a cause for division.
The 'Kurdish Unity" forum was held at Azadi Park in Qamishlo. Organized by the Euphrates Center for Studies, the forum is attended by intellectuals, writers, researchers, writers, journalists, artists, activists, and representatives of all political parties in Rojava, the Democratic Autonomous-Administration in the Jazira Canton, North and East Syria, the Democratic Society Movement, and the Syrian Democratic Council.
After observing a minute of silence for the martyrs and outlining the forum's program, Ilham Ahmad, co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, spoke.
"All Kurds are against division "
Ilham Ahmad referred to the Kurdish unity conference in Rojava Kurdistan: "All the decisions taken during the conference indicate the level of awareness and national understanding of the Kurdish people in this historical period, which has reached the highest levels, all Kurdish parties have reached a level of awareness where each of them defends their position responsibly, and they do not want to repeat the alliances to divide the Kurds."
Ilham Ahmed described the unity of the Kurdish position and ranks in Rojava Kurdistan as a historic step in the formation of alliances: "It is true that the difference of opinion affects relations, but we must consider the difference as a richness, and not allow it to be a reason for division."
"Kurds must have a role in governing the new Syria"
There are ideological differences in all societies, but this difference has 'never been a reason for division or unilateralism. This is a very important point for the development of the Kurdish people and building a new Syria, the lessons of history are very important, society should not be divided, today, Kurds and Turks are talking in Turkey, and if we can manage this process together, I believe we can take important and correct steps for the future," said Ilham Ahmed.
The forum will continue with three themes: "The importance of strengthening Kurdish unity" "The national dimension of the Kurdish unity conference document," and "The role of Kurds in Syria and constitutional options."
