Life of child injured by Turkish Gendarmerie gunfire remains in danger

Relatives of the child who was injured by gunfire from the Turkish occupation army’s Gendarmerie (Border Guards) in Kobani have revealed that his condition remains critical, as the bullet is still lodged in his body and his life is at risk.

Around 9:30 PM yesterday, Monday, members of the Turkish occupation army’s Gendarmerie (Border Guards) opened fire randomly towards the city of Kobani. This resulted in the severe injury of 15-year-old Walat Mahmoud Horan while he was at his family’s shop.

Walat Mahmoud Horan was rushed to the German Hospital in Kobani to receive medical treatment.

The child’s uncle, Othman Hassi, explained that according to information obtained from hospital staff, the bullet that entered Walat’s body and lodged in his lung remains inside him, and therefore, his life is still in danger.

Othman Hassi revealed that Walat was injured while at their furniture shop, saying: "His shop is located far from the border, but the shooting was random. As we know, the Turkish state has previously fired on civilians in the village of Saftki, located west of Kobani, as well as in many other villages.
