Sabri Taha’s sibling, Walid Taha Sabri (45 years old), indicated that he broke off his relationship with his brother since he joined the ranks of the “Peshmerga Roj,” and expressed his position on him, saying: “When he joined the Peshmerga Roj, I asked him to back down, but he said that he could not do that, after that.” I broke up with him and no longer communicate with him.”

Walid Taha expressed his desire for his brother to defect from this group, and called on him and all of its members by saying: “All citizens of Rojava must return. I call on my brother to take off that garment and return to his homes and not shed the blood of his brothers, we reject this.”

The brother of Faris Suleiman Shallah (43 years old), Ibrahim Suleiman Shallah (44 years old), who traveled to southern Kurdistan in 2012 and joined the ranks of the Roj Peshmerga 12 years ago, explained that they opposed his brother joining the Roj Peshmerga, and he expressed his dissatisfaction and rejection of this.

He said: "I told him, if you want to defend your homeland, then come back and join the Syrian Democratic Forces. Peshmerga Roj are cooperating with the enemy. Our enemy is using them and inciting them against the Guerrilla to provoke a civil war. We reject this, because the Guerrilla are our brothers. I asked him many times to abandon his weapons and return to defending his homeland. Whoever does not benefit his country cannot benefit anything. He told me that he joined the Peshmerga Roj because of the economic situation. I told him that the economic situation here is better and you can work here, so leave this group so that you do not confront your brothers. However, he refused, so I told him that he no longer meant to us. “Nothing and we will not return his body here if he is exposed to any harm, as we do not stand with him and people like him.”

Faris Suleiman Shallah called on his brother again to abandon the weapon, and said: “Leave the weapon, and you can do so, and we will do what is necessary, but if you do not return, we will completely disavow you, and we will not care about any harm you are subjected to.”

“Do not allow the enemy to gloat over you.”

Mohammad Ali also called on his nephew to defect from the Peshmerga Roj, saying: “I hope that no Kurd will direct his weapons towards the Kurds. They should not serve the enemy. ISIS/ Daesh launched its attacks in front of the eyes of the world, and the Guerrilla and the Kurdish young men and women are the ones who defended us in the face of these attacks.” If it were not for them, our homes would have collapsed on our heads. The Kurds must confront the enemy and not confront each other. Pointing weapons at the Guerrilla is not only treason, but also a crime. They (the Kurds) must build the homeland together. My beloved, I hope you do not allow the enemy to gloat over you.”

The nephews of Mohammad Ali (64 years old), Khalil Khaled (35 years old) and Hassan Ismail (25 years old) had traveled to southern Kurdistan from Rojava in 2012 to escape compulsory military service with the Damascus government. Khalil Khaled joined the Peshmerga Roj 8 years ago, and Hassan Ismail 6 years ago.
