Large-Scale Humanitarian aid for IDPs in Jazira Canton

Charitable organizations and institutions from Southern Kurdistan, alongside European organizations and residents of Rojava living abroad, have provided humanitarian aid to displaced people who fled the cities of Aleppo, Afrin, Tabqa, and Raqqa to areas of Jazira Canton following the recent attacks on those regions. The assistance was delivered through personal initiatives and in cooperation with the Kurdish Red Crescent and several humanitarian organizations.

The aid included food and medical supplies, as well as blankets, basic necessities, and children’s supplies, especially milk. According to available capacities, the assistance covered approximately 75% of basic needs as part of emergency and temporary relief measures.

In addition, three mobile medical clinics were allocated, one in the city of Derik and its surrounding areas, and two in the city of Qamishlo and its countryside. These clinics are staffed with medical personnel and equipped to meet the most urgent healthcare needs.

According to those overseeing the humanitarian work, other organizations and institutions are still in contact in order to deliver additional aid to displaced people in the region.

In this context, the Barzani Charity Foundation, in cooperation with the Kurdish Red Crescent, has continued for the second consecutive day to distribute humanitarian aid to displaced families residing in homes, schools, and shelters in the city of Tirbespiyê, where the number of displaced families has reached approximately 280.

As part of this effort, the foundation distributed heating diesel fuel to all families residing in Majdal Shams School, Faisal School, Fayez Mansour School, and the Industrial School, with the total amount of distributed fuel reaching approximately 6,000 liters.

The foundation has also continued distributing winter supplies, including blankets, quilts, and clothing, in addition to food baskets and canned goods containing dairy products and ready meals, in an effort to alleviate the suffering of families amid harsh living conditions.

The distribution campaign was accompanied by a mobile medical clinic that visited shelter centers, where patients were examined and provided with the necessary treatment and medication, as part of ongoing humanitarian efforts to support displaced people and meet their basic needs.
