Haval Delbahar, the writer from Northern Kurdistanhighlighted the role of intellectuals in the Kurdish people's struggle for freedom and the importance of a unified position, in addition to the attempts of the powers seeking to restructure the Middle East according to their interests.

Delbahar stated that the Kurdish people were unable to play their historical role during World War I, so they lost a great opportunity. However, they have another opportunity now.

“The Kurdish people have been deprived of achieving any gains for about a century, but now at this stage they are very close to achieving their political entity, despite the challenges. Furthermore, the four countries that divided and occupied Kurdistan are seeking to maintain this position and prevent the Kurds from achieving their political entity again. That is why  the Kurds must seriously review their situation.”

Delbahar explained that the Kurdish people cannot achieve their political entity on the international scene unless they build their democratic unity and strengthen their struggle.

“The Kurds are more organized today than ever before. Regardless of the shortcomings and weaknesses, the Kurds have great power in the four parts of Kurdistan, there are millions of Kurdish people who want to achieve their freedom more than ever before. If the Kurdish people move in a unified manner, their internal position will be greatly strengthened, and the occupying countries will officially recognize the political entity of the Kurdish people.

Delbahar highlighted the role of intellectuals in the struggle for national liberation.

"The role of intellectuals in achieving victory is no less important than the role of political and military forces. Cultural and intellectual power is one of the most important forces. For example, the priority and leadership in the revolutions of the Soviet Union, France and the world was for the intellectual field. Intellectuals led the liberation operations of their peoples. Therefore, their mission is greater than everyone else" he added.

Delbahar cited examples from the uprisings in Kurdistan “All the uprisings failed because of the failure of intellectuals to perform their responsibilities and tasks, that is, despite some efforts made by intellectuals in the history of Kurdistan, they did not perform their responsibilities in the required manner, and during the past 50 years of the Kurdish people’s struggle for freedom as well, intellectuals did not perform their duty and task according to their position.”

Haval Delbahar made the point clear that "Intellectuals should form a very strong front capable of influencing all parties, bodies and institutions of the Kurdish people. Culture requires a revolutionary and combative life. Regardless of all differences and shortcomings, Kurdish intellectuals in Kurdistan and everywhere need a unified force. Therefore, they should gather under the umbrella of a cultural conference. All Kurdish cultural institutions should unite their efforts for the Kurdish people's struggle.

The writer Haval Delbahar concluded by saying "We must take a clear and firm position against the forces and figures who ally with the enemies of the Kurdish people. These forces must review themselves, especially the forces in Southern Kurdistan. Despite the  internal differences we should stand with their people and come together with all Kurdish forces for achieving the unity of the Kurdish people.
