K.Star in Lebanon condemns Turkish occupation attacks

Kongra Star in Lebanon issued a statement today strongly condemning the attacks of the Turkish occupation on the region of North and East Syria and the targeting of a civilian convoy that was heading to the Tishrin Dam area south of the city of Kobani.

The statement stressed that "these attacks and targeting of innocent civilians who were standing in a peaceful solidarity stand near the Tishrin Dam represent a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights, and pose a direct threat to the lives of civilians and expose the region to the risk of a humanitarian disaster."

The statement called on international powers and human rights and humanitarian organizations to pressure the occupying Turkish state to immediately stop its aggression and abide by international law, holding Turkey fully responsible for any humanitarian disaster that may result from these attacks.

The statement stressed the need to "immediately stop Turkish attacks, provide humanitarian support to affected civilians, hold the perpetrators of these crimes accountable, and protect civilians and civilian infrastructure."
