Kongra Star calls on international opinion to act against massacres in Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh

The Kongra Star issued a written statement regarding the crimes and violations perpetrated by the mercenaries of the Interim Government against the residents of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh in Aleppo.

The statement read: "Within a few days, the bloodthirsty mercenaries of the Turkish occupation committed heinous crimes against women, children, and all of humanity in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, before the eyes of the entire world."

The statement added: "These mercenaries do not recognize the existence of peoples, peaceful coexistence, or the establishment of a free and peaceful system." It expressed strong condemnation of the killings and mutilation of women’s bodies in the two neighborhoods, continuing: "The torture of women who resist with dignity in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, and subjecting them to humiliation, constitutes a war crime."

The statement concluded with the following call: "We call on the international public, human rights institutions, and all women’s organizations not to remain silent regarding the acts committed against women, children, youth, and all groups in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh. All conscientious societies must take action. All those responsible for these acts must be held accountable and brought to justice.”
