Kobani remains under siege for 22nd day

The siege imposed by the Syrian Interim Government factions on the city of Kobani entered its 22nd day, amidst ongoing meetings between delegations from the city administration and the Interim Government within the framework of the January 29th agreement, without leading to an end to the crisis.

The siege has exacerbated the humanitarian and living conditions inside Kobani, where residents are suffering from a near-total shortage of medicine and baby formula, in addition to a severe scarcity of food and basic necessities.

Meanwhile, the Kobani Electricity Body managed to repair the cables damaged by the attacks on Monday, allowing for the restoration of power to the city.

Despite the continued siege, Kobani is hosting more than 200,000 displaced people distributed across approximately 70 centers within the city, while the lives of nearly 600,000 civilians and displaced persons who sought refuge there from attacks targeting their areas in recent months have been affected.

In a related context, the people of Kobani continue their resistance against the siege, affirming that resistance is the only way to preserve the gains achieved by the people.
