KJK: Leader must not spend another February 15 in Imrali

The Coordination of the Kurdistan Women's Community (KJK) issued a written statement regarding the 26th anniversary of the international conspiracy of February 15 against leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The statement read:

"On the 26th anniversary of the international conspiracy of February 15, which the Kurdish people and other peoples who see hope for a democratic life in the model of leader Abdullah Ocalan refer to as the ‘Black Day,’ we remember all our martyrs who raised the slogan ‘You cannot block our sun’ and formed a ring of fire around leader Abdullah Ocalan. With deep respect and gratitude, we renew our promise to dismantle the genocidal system in Imrali, which imposes annihilation on the Kurdish people, women seeking democracy and freedom, and all oppressed peoples through the imprisonment of leader Abdullah Ocalan. In doing so, we will achieve the greatest goal of our martyrs.

We strongly condemn the dominant states that took part in this conspiracy, along with their collaborators, those who have ignored the cries of our people for 100 years, despite the immense sacrifices made to live a free life. They will be held accountable in the history of peoples' resistance and will forever be remembered for this Black Day.

We know that the forces of capitalist modernity involved in this conspiracy aimed primarily at the complete eradication of our liberation movement and the Kurdish people through the imprisonment of leader Abdullah Ocalan. Had they succeeded, they would have redrawn the geography of Kurdistan and the Middle East as they pleased, shaping borders to serve their interests and plunging this land, home to countless peoples, into an endless war. The only ideology capable of standing in the way of these dirty plans was the philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan, which envisions free coexistence. Even though he is subjected to an unbearable system of annihilation in Imrali, living in total isolation, he has continued to uphold socialism. Despite being in the hands of the enemy, he has created a model of democratic, free, and socialist life, providing the most meaningful response to the conspiratorial forces.

The system of torture and extermination in Imrali was deliberately established to eliminate leader Abdullah Ocalan day by day, moment by moment, and to deprive him of hope. Yet, leader Abdullah Ocalan has continuously renewed and developed himself within this system, providing a powerful and meaningful response to its architects. He has shown how millions of people can be confined within a small room, becoming a symbol of hope for millions. As he has stated, he laid the foundation for a third renaissance based on women's freedom, environmentalism, and democracy. Through this model, he has demonstrated that it is possible to build a democratic and free life that transcends the disease of capitalist modernity imposed on the Kurdish people, women, and the peoples of the Middle East and the world.

Current events and developments in Rojava and North and East Syria are the foundational pillars of this model, which has drawn the world's attention. Despite massacres, attacks, and attempts at extermination, all peoples, including Kurds, Arabs, Armenians, Assyrians, Circassians, Turkmens, and others, are determined to live freely. Under women's leadership, they have built a communal life. The model of autonomous administration, which embraces all diverse components and enables them to live together with their identities and will, has become a guarantee that this democratic system will spread throughout the Middle East and the world.

Women in Kurdistan and the Middle East, who previously endured oppression beyond even the level of slavery, have awakened through the model of free life proposed by Leader Apo and have continued their struggle, shaping life with the colors of women. As women, we know well that this conspiracy was also aimed at the free women’s movement. Therefore, we are escalating our struggle on this basis.

The victory of Kurdish existence and freedom, particularly that of Kurdish women, goes beyond the destruction of the torture and annihilation system in Imrali. Based on this understanding, we call upon all segments of our people, the democratic public, especially women and youth, to declare that we can no longer tolerate our leader spending another February 15 under the system of torture in Imrali. For him to live freely and work under suitable conditions, all parties must participate more actively in the campaign ‘Freedom for Leader Abdullah Ocalan, Democratic Solution to the Kurdish Question.’ Everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, must work for a free life, transforming the Black Day into a day of freedom filled with vibrant colors. Only then can Leader Abdullah Ocalan build his project, which is the key to a free and democratic life for women, the Kurdish people, and all peoples of the Middle East. To enable him to play his historical role, we must take to the streets and squares to ensure his physical freedom and create the necessary conditions. We call on all women to act with this awareness, recognizing that the march toward Leader Abdullah Ocalan is fundamentally a march toward freedom. Therefore, all women must work with dedication to achieve the democratic transformation in Turkey and the Middle East that Leader Abdullah Ocalan envisions."
