Kilo Issa: Kurdish Unity Conference step towards complete solution in response to Ocalan's call

Kilo Issa, a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria, spoke to ANHA's agency about the requirement to conduct the Kurdish Unity Conference in Rojava Kurdistan, which took place on April 26 in Qamishlo, where he described that the Kurdish problem must come to a total national solution within Syria.

Issa further added that the Kurdish people have been waging a long struggle for their rightful rights, saying, "The Kurdish people have struggled for many years to achieve their freedom and fulfill their people's rights. Since the Rojava Revolution started 14 years ago, the YPG, YPJ, and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were formed, and the Democratic Autonomous Administration project was formed as a result of this struggle."

A Call for a Safe and Peaceful Syria

Issa noted that Syria's de facto division had existed since before the Ba'ath regime, adding more that the planning of the conference was a direct result of Leader Abdullah Ocalan's call for peace and unity.

He explained that the conference witnessed widespread participation by the majority of political parties and representatives, who submitted their documents and messages, representing the aspirations of the Kurdish people.

He added that the conference provided an opportunity for Kurdish political forces, civil society, and intellectuals to convene, with the aim of preparing a document that would pave the way for a wide solution to the Kurdish issue.

Lastly, Kilo Issa emphasized that the most significant goal is to create a safe and equal Syria through shared democratic struggle with the Damascus regime, emphasizing that "the struggle will continue until full rights are achieved."
