Journalist and Roj News editor Suleiman Ahmed continues to be detained by KDP forces for the 264th day, after the Dohuk court postponed his case to 29 July.

Suleiman Ahmed was kidnapped by KDP forces at the Fish Khabur crossing on October 25, 2023, while returning to S. Kurdistan, after heading on the first of October, to the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo to visit his family.

A week after Suleiman Ahmed's abduction, KDP-affiliated forces claimed in a contradictory statement that his abduction was "not related to his journalistic work," admitted to his abduction and threatened to punish him publicly.

After his abduction for more than 7 months, Suleiman's lawyers were able to meet with him, as his lawyer was allowed to meet with him in the Asayish Dohuk prison, in May, under pressure from journalists, press unions, and local and international organizations.
