K. Star calls for turning global squares into arenas of resistance in support of Rojava

Kongra Star issued a written statement today regarding calls for general mobilization to organize demonstrations worldwide on 31 January and 1 February 2026 in support of the resistance in Rojava.

The statement read as follows:

“In response to the call of the ‘Women Defend Rojava’ campaign, from the trenches of resistance consecrated by blood and will, and from the squares where the first cries of freedom resounded, we in Kongra Star declare our full militant mobilization in answer to the call for the ‘Global Day of Action on 31 January 2026’ to safeguard the gains of the Women’s Revolution.

Today, we do not address the world in the language of pleading, but in the language of truth forged by the sacrifices of our comrades in the Women’s Protection Units and the People’s Protection Units, affirming that the Rojava Revolution was never merely a political change, but a second birth of a stolen human identity, and a universal resurgence of the philosophy of ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadî,’ which has become a nightmare haunting the sleep of authoritarian patriarchal regimes.

What our regions are witnessing today, brutal attacks led by alliances of darkness, by factions affiliated with the transitional government in Damascus, and by remnants of ISIS ideology and chauvinist forces, is nothing but a desperate attempt to suffocate the democratic model that proved to the world that the liberation of society begins exclusively with the liberation of women.

They target the braids of our comrades, imagining they are cutting the roots of our revolution, but in their ignorance they fail to realize that every lock of hair that falls has turned into an eternal covenant binding us to the land, and that the treachery they practice against our pioneers only deepens our determination to dismantle the strongholds of their crumbling patriarchal system. These braids they display as spoils of war are a badge of honor on the chest of humanity, and a mark of shame that will pursue the silence of the international community watching the genocide of the feminist vanguard in the twenty-first century without action.

In the name of every Kurdish, Arab, Armenian, Assyrian, and Syriac woman who has fused her identity in the crucible of coexistence, we declare to the entire world that 31 January will be a day to escalate internationalist struggle.

We call on all feminist movements and democratic forces worldwide to turn public squares into arenas of intellectual and physical resistance. Defending Rojava today is defending a woman’s right to exist; it is the solid barrier preventing the spread of fascist terrorism into your homes and cities.

We in Kongra Star renew our pledge to the martyrs and to leader Abdullah Ocalan that we will not retreat a single step from our gains. A revolution nourished by the blood of Hevrin, Salha, and Deniz is a revolution that cannot be broken, and our cry will continue to shake the thrones of tyrants until decisive victory is achieved.

Let the enemies know that we do not fear death, for through resistance we have found the meaning of life, and that every attempt to break our will will give rise to thousands of fighters and organizers who will carry the banner forever. Let 31 January be a thunderous cry that unites our hearts in a single trench against enslavement, and let us make of our collective will an invincible force that safeguards women’s dignity and protects their global revolution.”
