International reactions are intensifying against attacks by the Syrian Interim Government’s mercenaries, backed by the Turkish state. In Switzerland, a group of parliamentarians from both left- and right-wing parties issued a joint statement affirming that the democratic project in Rojava is under jihadist attacks, and they urged the Swiss government and international powers to take immediate action.

Socialist Party member Fabian Molina and Green Party member Thassar Glattli spoke to the Firat News Agency (ANF).

Glattli stated that their goal is to mobilize the international community and Switzerland, recalling that in December they submitted a proposal to the Swiss Parliament to take tangible steps to support religious and geographic minorities in Syria.

He explained that this decision is specifically directed at the Kurdish people in Rojava and other minorities in Syrian regions, emphasizing the need to act now.

He said: “We cannot wait six months or a year. We must protect not only the people of Rojava but also Europe from ISIS militants.”

Meanwhile, Socialist Party member Fabian Molina affirmed that there is strong will in Switzerland to support this decision and stressed the need for the Federal Council to act responsibly in accordance with the mandate granted by Parliament.

Molina noted that the release of ISIS militants poses a serious threat to Switzerland’s security.

He added that Rojava represents an important model of democracy, federalism, and gender equality, explaining that these values conflict with jihadist ideology. He pointed out that this is why the democratic project in Rojava is being targeted.
