K Star and Zenobia Women's Gathering mourn death of Imrali delegation member

Kongra Star and the Zenobia Women's Gathering mourned with deep sadness the passing of political activist, writer, director, and Member of Parliament for the Peoples' Democratic Party, Sari Sarya Under, who passed away on Saturday at the age of 62.

In their condolence messages, Kongra Star and the Zenobia Women's Gathering described Under as a "rare symbol in a time when principled stands are few," emphasizing that he was not just a politician but a "revolutionary through his words and actions, paying the price for his principles with imprisonment and persecution, remaining loyal to his cause until his last breath."

Kongra Star and the Zenobia Women's Gathering highlighted that Under dedicated his life to defending human rights, women's freedom, and freedom of expression. He was a bold voice for the oppressed peoples' struggles, particularly the Kurdish issue. He spared no effort in conveying the call for peace from Leader Abdullah Ocalan to all parties, peoples, political parties, and organizations in the region until his last breath.

In a related context, the Zenobia Women's Gathering praised Onder's contributions to the arts, emphasizing that "his cinematic works were not just artistic productions, but tools of resistance and expressions of the pains and hopes of the people." They noted that he used art as an influential educational and cultural weapon.

They affirmed that "Onder's passing is a loss, but we are confident that his revolutionary legacy will remain alive in our hearts and minds, guiding us towards a better future."

Kongra Star and the Zenobia Women's Gathering concluded their condolence messages by offering their deepest sympathies to his family, comrades, the Peoples' Democratic Party, and all his loved ones. They confirmed, "We will continue his path in the struggle for a just and free society, based on peace and equality."

The Yazidi Women's Union in Rojava extended its condolences to the family of the martyr of peace, Sari Sarya Under, describing him as "a symbol of peaceful struggle and a steadfast defender of democratic values." They highlighted that he dedicated his life to achieve true peace and promoting the brotherhood of peoples.

In their condolence message, the Union added, "He was a voice for dialogue, and his stances were a beacon in the face of injustice and division. With his passing, we have lost a rare, sincere human being, and his loss is great both politically and humanly."

The Union renewed its condolences to the honorable family of Sari Sarya Under and his comrades, "Praying to God and Tawus Malek to grant him abundant mercy and to inspire everyone with patience and solace."

Sari Sarya Under was transferred on April 15th to Florence Nightingale Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey, after suffering a sudden heart attack. He underwent treatment in the intensive care unit and remained under close medical supervision for 18 days.

Despite medical efforts, Under suffered multiple organ failure, leading to the deterioration of his health and his eventual passing.
