Jurist: Isolation contradicts international law

The Turkish occupation state is still violating international laws by imposing strict isolation on Leader Abdullah Ocalan, and depriving him of meeting with his family and lawyers, who have not met

him since March 23, 2021.

The jurist and holder of a doctorate in international law at Ain Al-Shams University in Cairo, and the co-chair of the Administrative Sciences Department at the University of Kobani, Anwar Al-Mushrif, in an interview with ANHA agency, said: "The isolation imposed on the international thinker leader Abdullah Ocalan contradicts all international laws that were established to protect the rights of detainees, and with the rules established by the United Nations to deter tyrannical authorities from carrying out actions that are inconsistent with human values, and international law that was enacted to allow the detainee to express his opinion freely and guarantee his rights, such as the freedom to defend himself and express his belief freely".

Anwar Al-Mushrif added: "Anyone who ignores the Turkish authorities’ violations against Leader Abdullah Ocalan is an accomplice to it and an accomplice to dictatorial regimes, which violate human rights and restrict freedom of thought, and expression of opinion".

Al-Mushrif affirmed: "We, human rights activists reject this isolation and the international silence regarding it. The presence of the leader for more than 24 years in Imrali prison, and the absence of news about him for nearly 3 years, is contrary to all international laws".

Al-Mushrif pointed out: "Leader Abdullah Ocalan is an internationalist thinker and his thought posed a threat to the tyrannical regimes in the region, even while he was in prison, the Turkish occupation state could not limit the spread of his thought and philosophy, and even his works were translated into many languages in the world".

Al-Mushrif noted that: "The people of the region today are aware of the external plans that are being hatched against them, and they know very well that the thought of the leader Abdullah Ocalan is the only solution for them to live in peace. The thought that they inherited from the leader created in them a great awareness of foreign conspiracies and guided them to solutions, so the leader’s thought became a weapon of the people of the region in standing up to the cultural, historical and civilizational war to which the region is being exposed by the Turkish occupation state".

Jurist Anwar Al-Mushrif called on intellectuals and jurists in the region to work to spread the thought and philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan among the youth who will lead the region to safety in the future.
