Israeli movements continue in southern Syria

The countryside of Daraa and Quneitra has witnessed renewed Israeli military movements over the past hours, amid ongoing tension and alertness in southern Syria, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR). 

Sources cited by the SOHR reported that an Israeli military patrol infiltrated the area of Wadi al-Raqad near the village of Jamlah in western Daraa countryside, entering through the “Abu al-Ghaythar” hill gate. The patrol consisted of two military vehicles, with no clashes or raids reported during the movement.

These developments come in parallel with continued Israeli military activity in various areas of southern Syria, at a time when local communities remain concerned, amid the absence of any official comment from the transitional government regarding the incident.

In a related development, several Israeli artillery shells landed on Tuesday evening in the vicinity of eastern Tel Ahmar in southern Quneitra countryside, targeting agricultural areas near the town and causing heightened tension in the region, with no human casualties reported according to initial information.

Southern Syria has recently witnessed an escalation in Israeli military activity, including repeated shelling and ongoing incursions in some border areas, amid fears of a widening escalation in the region.
