Israeli forces deployed military vehicles and heavy bulldozers to al-Shahar forest area near Jabata al-Khashab area in the northern Quneitra countryside today, Wednesday, and have begun carrying out large-scale land-leveling operations, including extensive land-leveling operations, including extensive forest cover in the areas adjacent to the border strip with the Golan Heights.

This comes within the framework of repeated Israeli practices targeting forest areas and environmental infrastructure in the border areas with the occupied territories, amid official silence from the transitional government in Syria regarding these repeated violations.

According to the SOHR, the bulldozing operations included large areas of forest trees, including fruit-bearing pines and oaks, in a forest estimated to be more than 50 hectares in area, and containing trees some of which are more than 30 years old, which gives the area a special environmental and natural importance.
