Israeli army launched raid on arms depot belonging to "Islamic Group" in Syria

The Israeli military announced today details of an attack it carried out in Syria last week, which included an airstrike and a ground incursion. It stated that "during a nighttime raid in southern Syria, an arms depot belonging to the Islamic Group was destroyed."

The target, located in the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside, contained large quantities of weapons, including "firearms, mines, and other military equipment."

The attack also included an incursion by an Israeli ground force to "locate and destroy a weapons depot belonging to the Islamic Group," according to military spokesman Avichai Adraee.

The Israeli military released a video of the operation on its "X" platform, showing an airstrike followed by a ground operation by Israeli soldiers.

The Israeli attack came months after an armed clash between members of the Islamic Group and Israeli forces in the same town during an attempt to arrest them, which resulted in injuries to several Israeli soldiers, some of them serious
