Israeli army continues strikes on Lebanon as Hezbollah responds

The Israeli army renewed its airstrikes today, Monday, targeting the Southern Suburb of Beirut, hitting areas including Haret Hreik, Ghobeiry, Laylaki, Hadath, Burj al-Barajneh, Tahwitat al-Ghadir, and Chiyah.

Warplanes also carried out strikes on homes in the towns of Yater and Deir Aames, while artillery shelled the outskirts of Maroun al-Ras, Yaroun, and Bint Jbeil. Meanwhile, Israeli forces reportedly set fire to homes in the town of Naqoura.

In response, Hezbollah launched a series of rocket attacks and drone strikes targeting Israeli army positions in al-Malikiyah, Kiryat Shmona, Adaisseh, Avivim, Mishmar HaCarmel, Ghajar, Dovev, and Metula, in addition to Shomera barracks and a site near Khiam detention center.

The Israeli army stated in a post on platform “X” that six soldiers were injured in southern Lebanon, including two seriously wounded by an anti-tank missile. Another soldier was injured in an operational incident, while three others were wounded following a drone strike.

Additionally, five rockets heading toward Haifa and a drone launched toward Kiryat Shmona were intercepted, though one Israeli civilian was reportedly injured.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar stated that around 5,000 rockets, shells, and drones have been launched at Israel since March 2, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the expansion of the buffer zone along the Lebanese border to contain threats from Hezbollah.
