Israeli army announces killing of several "gunmen" in Southern Syria

The Israeli army announced today that forces from the "Etzion" Brigade—part of the 210th Division—killed a number of "gunmen" yesterday in what it described as the "security zone" in southern Syria.

In a statement, the army added that it "will continue its operations in the security zone in southern Syria," affirming its determination to "eliminate any threat targeting Israeli citizens or its forces."

In a related development, an Israeli occupation force advanced today toward the town of Ma'ariya in the Yarmouk Basin area of ​​the western Daraa countryside, reaching the village of Abidin and the Tal al-Mughr hill area.

The SANA news agency reported that an occupation force consisting of four military vehicles set out from the Jazera barracks and advanced toward the town of Ma'ariya, reaching the village of Abidin, before heading to the Tal al-Mughr area.

Yesterday, an Israeli army force comprising eight military vehicles had advanced toward the town of Jamla, where it deployed within the town's neighborhoods and searched several civilian homes. This occurred just one day after seven Israeli military vehicles entered the village of Ma'ariya, where they established a military checkpoint east of the mosque, searched nearby homes, and questioned passersby before withdrawing.
