Israel: no ceasefire yet, Hamas will find it difficult to reject the terms

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that "there is currently no ceasefire in Gaza, only a reduction in the intensity of the fire," and that "the upcoming negotiations are expected to be quick, and Hamas will likely find it difficult to reject the proposed terms," citing an Israeli political source.

According to sources, the Israeli delegation expected to participate in the talks includes Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, the official responsible for the prisoners and missing persons file, Gal Hirsch, as well as a senior official from the Shin Bet security service referred to as "M." The negotiations are set to begin tonight.

In this context, sources close to Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid reported that he has been in contact with the U.S. administration and expressed his readiness to provide political support to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to advance the "Trump Plan."

On the ground, Israeli Channel 12 reported that the army has shifted to “defensive operations only” inside the Gaza Strip, in line with directives from the political leadership, while Gaza city remains under siege. Withdrawal of forces has not yet begun, with airstrikes continuing until early morning hours.

The channel added that the Chief of Staff held a special assessment of the situation, confirming that the new instructions are part of the “preparation for implementing the first phase of the Trump plan to release the hostages.”

Earlier, Hamas announced its support for the U.S. proposal to end the war in Gaza and expressed readiness to release all hostages, while other Palestinian factions voiced their support for Hamas’s stance on the Trump plan.
