Meetings of the women's delegation from NE, Syria in Europe end

The Foreign Relations Committee of the Kurdish Community Center in the Swiss city of Aarau organized a meeting with wide participation from various figures.

The final meeting in Aarau also included representatives of the Syriac Association in Thurgau, the Open Antifascist Meeting in Lenzburg (Offenes Antifaschistisches Treffen (OAT) Lenzburg), leaders of the Socialist Party, activists from feminist and environmental movements, and members of the Kurdish House.

Georgette Barsoum delivered a speech on behalf of the delegation, presenting a presentation on developments in Syria, stressing that the current government is incapable of resolving the country's existing problems.

Georgette pointed out that Ahmed al-Sharaa's regime (similar to the Ba'ath regime) adopts a unilateral mentality, saying, "The real solution in Syria is to build a decentralized, democratic system in which all different identities are recognized, so that everyone can live freely. The experience of the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria over the past ten years proves this. We, Syrian women, do not want war."

When asked about the Turkish demand that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) surrender their weapons, Amina Omar, an administrator in the Women's Council of North and East Syria, explained, "We are well aware that after the al-Julani government seized power, massacres were committed against Alawites and Druze. Our weapons represent a guarantee for our security and our lives, and if we abandon them, what happened to the Alawites will happen again."

The women's delegation from North and East Syria, which included Mona Al-Youssef, administrator of the Women's Council of North and East Syria and spokesperson for the Syrian Women's Council; Shahrazad Al-Jassim, spokesperson for the Zenobia Women's Gathering; Jiyan Hussein, a member of the Star Conference Coordination Committee; and Georgette Barsoum, head of the Syriac Women's Union, arrived in Europe on September 6 for an official visit. During the visit, the delegation met with a number of politicians, parliamentarians, and municipal representatives, in addition to women's and environmental organizations, and representatives of the Kurdish diaspora in Belgium, Germany, France, and Switzerland.
