Israel arrests 2 young men in western Daraa countryside

Israeli forces opened fire at two young men from the village of Saisun while they were riding a motorcycle near the “Mortar Point,” located in the village of Maariya, in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa countryside, as they were on their way to visit relatives in the area.

The “Mortar Point,” which was previously a Syrian regime military post, has witnessed intensified Israeli military activity in recent days, including land clearing operations and the construction of earthen berms facing the village of Kouya.

This incident comes amid a noticeable escalation of Israeli military operations in southern Syria, in the complete absence of any response or action from official Syrian authorities.

In a related development, an Israeli force today carried out an incursion into the town of Ruwayhina in the central countryside of Quneitra.

According to the Syrian Observatory, the troops searched several homes belonging to civilians, took personal photos of the residents, broke into closed and uninhabited houses, and vandalized their contents, resulting in material damage to a number of buildings.
