The Israeli military announced today the interception of a drone launched from Yemen before it entered Israeli airspace.

In a statement, the army said: “A drone launched from Yemen was intercepted before entering Israeli territory. No alarms were activated in accordance with the established policy.”

This announcement comes hours after the Houthi group declared that its forces hit an Israeli oil tanker with a ballistic missile off the coast of the Red Sea. This marks the first attack following Israel’s assassination of the Houthis’ Prime Minister and several ministers in an airstrike on Sana’a city last Thursday.

The Houthis regularly launch ballistic missiles and drones toward Israel, with Israel often announcing interceptions. They also carry out attacks in the Red Sea targeting commercial ships, which they claim are linked to Israel.
