ISIS member captured in southeastern countryside of Hasaka

Today, the SDF released a statement on its official website, announcing the capture of an ISIS member in the Hasaka countryside. The statement reads:

"As part of the ongoing operations conducted by our forces against the remnants of ISIS terrorist cells, the Military Operations Teams (TOL) of the Syrian Democratic Forces, supported by the International Coalition forces, carried out a security operation yesterday, Thursday, targeting the capture of a member of an ISIS terrorist cell.

The operation took place in the village of “Al-Tuwaymin”, which is part of the town of “Al-Shaddadi,” southeast of Hasaka. Our forces had gathered intelligence on the movements and activities of the terrorist named ‘Dhahir Al-Kidi Al-Fiyan,’ also known as ‘Abu Ghazi.’ Our forces raided his location and successfully apprehended him.

The terrorist ‘Dhahir’ was an active member of ISIS who facilitated the smuggling of terrorist operatives, particularly foreign ISIS women from Al-Hol camp.

Our forces seized several weapons, ammunition, and military equipment from the terrorist, including two Kalashnikov rifles, ten Kalashnikov magazines, and one military scope.

Our forces reaffirm their commitment to continuing security and military operations against the terrorist organization until its cells are eradicated and the region's security and stability are maintained."
