Drug trafficking network arrested in Jazera Canton

The Media Center of the Internal Security Forces issued a statement today announcing the arrest of the drug trafficking and abuse network members. The statement read:

"As part of ongoing campaigns to combat drug trafficking, our forces have managed to dismantle a network involved in drug trafficking and abuse in the city of Qamishlo. Seven individuals, including dealers and promoters, were arrested after carefully planned and executed operations that lasted several weeks.

This operation followed raids and ambushes carried out in various neighborhoods of the city, during which large quantities of drugs and unlicensed weapons were seized, including:

3.18 kg of crystal meth.

6,580 pills of Pregabalin.

1.65 mg of processed hashish.

7.5 pills of Captagon.

Various weapons, including 9mm and 8.5mm pistols, six hand grenades, and three bladed weapons.

Military equipment such as a uniform and tactical vest, helmet, and a rifle scope.

Drug paraphernalia and other equipment, including electronic scales and 10 disabled phones.

A sum of $550 USD.

The detainees have been referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the legal procedures as part of ongoing efforts to protect society from the dangers of these substances and to combat all forms of crime."
