Private sources told Roj News Agency that the Iraqi army launched an attack on the Nowruz neighborhood, targeting residents and attempting to seize homes by force, resulting in injuries to several civilians.

According to the agency, the army remained present in the neighborhood and sent additional reinforcements, restricting the movement of residents in and out of the area and creating a climate of fear and constant pressure on the population.

This attack comes amidst repeated attempts by the army over the past two years to seize control of the neighborhood, despite its residents having lived there for 23 years, building their lives and homes themselves, and affirming their rejection of any attempts to forcibly evict them or seize their property.
