Spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Sabah Al-Nu’man, affirmed Baghdad’s commitment to the agreed timeline for the withdrawal of international coalition forces from the country, scheduled for September 30.

Al-Nu’man stressed that the withdrawal will be completed on schedule, reflecting Iraq’s sovereignty and independence in making its national decisions.

Regarding the issue of weapons, he confirmed that the government is proceeding with efforts to place all weapons under state control and integrate armed formations into legitimate state institutions. He noted that the factions that contributed to protecting the country will come under the umbrella of the state, while their sacrifices will continue to be recognized and appreciated.
