Despite her deteriorating health, Iranian authorities denied human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi, who is detained in Evin prison, access to health care.

According to the latest report on Narges Mohammadi's condition, she has been denied treatment and has also been denied to communicate with her family since December 11, 2023.

Narges Mohammadi suffers from several diseases such as heart, breast lump and chronic back pain, and has so far only been sent twice for health checks.

The Iranian authorities also prevented Bakhshan Azizi, a Kurdish activist detained in Tehran's Evin prison and sentenced to death, from visiting a specialist.

In another context, 47 political detainees in Evin prison began a hunger strike on Monday evening, at 22:00 until today at the same time, coinciding with the speech of Iranian President Massoud Bezshkian before the 79th United Nations General Assembly.

The prisoners said that the reason for their hunger strike was to protest the escalation of executions and the conditions of political prisoners, and to demand a halt to executions and the release of prisoners.
