In the past two days, southern Lebanon has been experiencing continued Israeli airstrikes, the most intense since the outbreak of war between Hamas and Israel on October 7. According to the latest Lebanese health statistics, 492 people have been killed, and 1,645 others injured.

Additionally, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Monday the killing of 16 Syrians, including women and children, as part of the Israeli escalation on Lebanon.

In this regard, the Representative of the Autonomous Administration in Lebanon, Abdul Salam Ahmed, said in an exclusive statement to ANHA agency: "As is well known, the result of the war in southern Lebanon has made the situation unsafe for the past year, and thousands of Syrian displaced people, including those from Rojava and NE Syria, live there."

Ahmed noted that for some time, they have been warning Syrian refugees from the NE Syria region about the necessity of leaving the area because the war would expand. He explained that as a result of the current expansion of the war, thousands of residents from that region have been displaced to the capital, Beirut.

Ahmed clarified that the Autonomous Administration representative in Lebanon formed a committee tasked with offering help and assistance to refugees from Rojava and NE Syria. They also established committees to coordinate the affairs of refugees returning to NE Syria.

It is worth mentioning that the number of Syrian refugees in Lebanon exceeds two million people.
