Keyvan Mohtadi, a former political prisoner and husband of Anisha Assadollahi, reported that Iranian authorities launched an attack on the women's political wing of Qarchak Prison in Ramin and attempted to forcibly transfer the prisoners to the ventilation yard.

This comes in the context of the Iranian authorities' ongoing repression of female political prisoners. In August, the Iran Human Rights Organization reported that Qarchak Prison has become a center of torture, deprivation, and humanitarian crises for female political prisoners.

Mohtadi also explained on his Instagram account that the female prisoners were not released after the declaration of a state of war and were not transferred to Evin Prison with the male prisoners. He noted that some of them are facing additional punishment inside the prison.

The female prisoners were transferred to Qarchak Prison following the airstrikes that targeted Evin Prison on June 23, which destroyed parts of it, while the remaining prisoners were transferred to the Greater Tehran Prison.

Qarchak Women's Prison, located in the desert east of Tehran, is known as the most dangerous and worst prison in Iran, due to the torture and poor health and psychological conditions imposed on female detainees.
