In a new escalation that reflects the ongoing tensions in the Kurdish regions of Eastern Kurdistan, Iranian authorities arrested seven Kurdish youth from the village of Bayrami, affiliated with the city of Mahabad, Eastern Kurdistan, yesterday, and took them to an unknown location.

The arrested youths are: Siamand Seyyed Ahmadi, Kamal Masoudi, Jalal Sadfi, Qader Khorman Far, Yousef Qal, Aram Mazboula, and Zaniar Seyyed Ahmadi. According to local testimonies, Iranian forces stormed the homes of these youths suddenly without obtaining a judicial warrant, and arrested them amid a state of panic among the residents.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that the arrests were carried out in a violent manner, as the village was completely surrounded during the operation, without the Iranian authorities issuing any official statement explaining the reasons for the arrests, nor did they inform the families of the detainees of the place where their sons were being held or the charges against them.
