Iran prevents crossing of body of Mansour Karimian into Eastern Kurdistan

Filmmaker Mansour Karimian was martyred on December 23rd during the recent Turkish occupation attacks on the city of Qamishlo.

The body was sent from Rojava to Southern Kurdistan in a solemn farewell ceremony, which was held on the thirtieth of last December.

After the body arrived in the city of Sulaymaniyah, on December 31, dozens of artists, representatives of political parties, and the people of Southern Kurdistan stood for a minute of silence in front of the Salim Cinema in the city in honor of the martyr’s spirit.

It was expected that the body of the martyr Mansour Karimian would be buried in his birthplace in the city of Sunna in Eastern Kurdistan, but the Iranian authorities prevented the body from crossing into Eastern Kurdistan, so they decided to bury him in the Sheikh Abbas cemetery in Sulaymaniyah on the 7th of this January.

Worth to note that the martyr Mansour Karimian was born in the city in 1984. He worked in the field of cinema for about 20 years, and had been working on directing films in Rojava for two years until he was martyred on the twenty-third of last December during the recent Turkish occupation attacks on the city of Qamishlo.
