Internal Security Forces warn of media disinformation in Aleppo

The Internal Security Forces – Aleppo commented on the reports circulating about a so-called “ceasefire,” denying their validity and confirming that what is being promoted falls within the framework of media disinformation and deception of public opinion. 

The purpose, they said, is to conceal the attacks carried out by mercenaries of the Syrian interim government against the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and Bani Zaid.

In a statement issued by its media center, the Internal Security Forces explained that all their attempts to reach a ceasefire have failed due to the mercenaries’ insistence on military escalation. They noted the continued shelling and the presence of drones flying over residential areas, alongside preparations for launching a large-scale attack in the coming hours.

The forces stated that the attackers carried out four consecutive assaults using tanks and armored vehicles, all of which were repelled by the Internal Security Forces with the support of local residents, who defended their homes against what were described as direct attacks targeting civilians.

Residents of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods reaffirmed their determination to remain in their homes and their absolute rejection of any form of forced displacement, emphasizing that their will to endure is stronger than policies of shelling, siege, and threats of force, especially in light of past bitter experiences.

The Internal Security Forces warned that attempts to impose new military realities through field escalation and media disinformation could lead to serious consequences, holding the attacking side fully responsible for the outcomes of continuing this approach.
