Internal Security Forces: Patrol targeted by IED in Deir ez-Zor

The General Command of the Internal Security Forces in the North and East Syria issued a statement today announcing that one of its patrols was targeted with an IED in Deir ez-Zor. The statement said:

“In light of the ongoing escalation witnessed in the regions of North and East Syria, accompanied by repeated attempts to undermine security and stability, one of our forces’ patrols was targeted this afternoon with an improvised explosive device on the road connecting the towns of Al-Baghouz and Al-Sousa, while carrying out its duty to maintain security and protect citizens.

This terrorist act did not result in any human casualties, and the damage was limited to material losses only. Our forces continue their work without interruption and remain in a state of full readiness to take all necessary measures, pursue the parties involved, and confront any potential terrorist acts, within the framework of their national responsibility to preserve the security and stability of the region and the safety of its people.”
