The General Command of the Internal Security Forces - Women in North and East Syria issued a statement announcing the conclusion of the search campaign at the Roj Camp, which is designated for the detention of ISIS mercenary families. The statement read:

"The security operation launched by the Internal Security Forces - Women and the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) on April 5, 2025, in Roj Camp concluded today, Monday, April 7, after three consecutive days of intensive security work, in addition to special night operations based on accurate information from our intelligence units.

This operation was a deliberate preemptive step based on accurate information indicating the presence of cells affiliated with the terrorist organization ISIS inside the camp. ISIS is actively seeking to reorganize its ranks by exploiting the recent security situation in the region and attempting to take advantage of these circumstances, as well as its ongoing attempts to recruit adults and children and instill its extremist ideas in the minds of children."

During the operation, our forces were able to:

Comprehensively comb all sections and departments of the camp.

Carry out special night operations based on qualitative intelligence.

Arrest 16 members of ISIS cells and their collaborators, proven to be involved in communicating with external cells for the purpose of recruitment and smuggling families.

Seize advanced communications equipment used for coordination with foreign countries.

Discover a secret trench dug under the camp's outer fence to facilitate escape and infiltration.

Investigations also revealed that terrorist cells were working to disseminate ISIS's takfiri ideology to children inside the camp, in an attempt to create an environment conducive to extremist ideology. However, the vigilance of our forces and their ethical and humanitarian principles completely thwarted these attempts.

We, the Internal Security Forces - Women and the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), affirm that this operation represents a new milestone in our ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, protect society from the threat of ISIS, and ensure a safe and stable environment for our people in Syria and all peoples of the world.
