Internal Security fighter martyred in armed attack in rural Deir ez-Zor

The General Command of the Internal Security Forces in North and East Syria issued a statement today announcing that one of its members was killed in an armed attack in the town of Moheimida in Deir ez-Zor canton. 

The statement explained: “At exactly ten o’clock this morning, one of our members was targeted with multiple gunshots by a terrorist group while he was returning home on the highway in the town of Moheimida, which led to his death.”

It added: “Our forces have launched investigative procedures and begun collecting the necessary evidence to identify and hold the perpetrators accountable. We affirm, in the General Command of the Internal Security Forces, our commitment to continuing to protect the security of the region and ensure the safety of citizens. Such treacherous crimes will not shake the resolve of our members or their duty to preserve stability.”

The Command called on all citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with security bodies by providing any information that may help uncover the perpetrators and ensure the continuation of security and stability in the region, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to protecting the community and safeguarding civil peace.
